Santa, all I need for Christmas is a pack of size 5 diapers...

I know the video is long, but I took the video to document part of Lexi's day. My friend, Ginny asked me today what we usually do during the day. Most things are routine like, eating, napping, and bathing, but Lexi comes up with new games and creative ideas all the time. I am fascinated by her ability to play on her own and her imagination. She played, "Organize the diapers" for about 30 minutes today. It made sense to her. She enjoyed it and I enjoyed watching her. I absolutely love my job. It may sound silly, but watching the diaper game today once again made me realize how rewarding my job is...every single day. To Jason, thank you for your hard work which makes it possible for me to be home with Alexi. It is a dream come true to have her and to have you. I am a one lucky mom and wife.

I am also happy to report we are truly making progress with the transition to a sippy cup. She was quite attached to one this evening and she learned from her friend, Caleb last night how to hold the cup and tilt her head back. I put the same sippy cup filled with water in her crib tonight. My hope is she will continue to grow an attachment to the cup and not want to leave home without it!

kindergarten boxcar parade

Well, everyone was healthy until Lexi got the flu and I got pneumonia.  Needless to say, it's been a rough week...BUT, we are better again and for the most part back to normal.  Jason, Lexi and I all worked together on this and we think it turned out great!  All the boxcars were unique and wonderful!  The parade was wonderful...it should have been televised!!

daddy/daughter dance

I have some catching up to do on the blog, but I wanted to write tonight while my feelings and emotions are raw... About a month ago we received an email about the daddy/daughter dance tonight.  Jason attached the flyer and forwarded it to me saying, "I have to work."  I frowned and moved on.  I didn't think much about it until the other day.  I had an "a-ha" moment and asked Jason if we could ask his dad so Lexi wouldn't miss out on the ball.  Jason called Kevin the next day and I received a text from Jason right after saying, "My dad would be happy to take Lexi."  I was delighted and Lexi was on cloud 9 when I told her Paw Paw wanted to take her to the ball (side note...we didn't tell Lexi about the ball because we didn't think she was going to be able to attend since Jason was out of town). The next day Jason left work early and met us at the mall for a little ball dress shopping.  Lexi danced around the dressing room in about 8 diff...
