Spring!

Spring has sprung and it is absolutely beautiful!  I started my 'spring cleaning' today.  I did not get much done since I had a two year old requesting that I dance instead.  I danced.  I put the cleaning on the back burner and I danced.  I also took Lexi to a nearby field for some spring pictures.  It is in my DNA to get aggravated if I can't finish a project, but I didn't let that happen today.  I recently did pictures for a friend with a 13 year old.  I used the song, "Let Them Be Little" by Billy Dean for the slideshow.  The lyrics say, "Let them cry, let them giggle, let them sleep in the middle." I realize Lexi will not want ME to dance with her one day.  I want to treasure these moments when she chooses me to hang out with.  I want to laugh with her, hold her hand, dance with her, let her sleep in the middle, and just be with her before she grows up.  The past 2.5 years have flown by and each day seems to go by faster than the day before.  I know in a blink of an eye we will be sending her to college.  I wish we could freeze time.  I wish we could rewind.  I wish she could just stay 'little' a tad bit longer.

kindergarten boxcar parade

Well, everyone was healthy until Lexi got the flu and I got pneumonia.  Needless to say, it's been a rough week...BUT, we are better again and for the most part back to normal.  Jason, Lexi and I all worked together on this and we think it turned out great!  All the boxcars were unique and wonderful!  The parade was wonderful...it should have been televised!!

daddy/daughter dance

I have some catching up to do on the blog, but I wanted to write tonight while my feelings and emotions are raw... About a month ago we received an email about the daddy/daughter dance tonight.  Jason attached the flyer and forwarded it to me saying, "I have to work."  I frowned and moved on.  I didn't think much about it until the other day.  I had an "a-ha" moment and asked Jason if we could ask his dad so Lexi wouldn't miss out on the ball.  Jason called Kevin the next day and I received a text from Jason right after saying, "My dad would be happy to take Lexi."  I was delighted and Lexi was on cloud 9 when I told her Paw Paw wanted to take her to the ball (side note...we didn't tell Lexi about the ball because we didn't think she was going to be able to attend since Jason was out of town). The next day Jason left work early and met us at the mall for a little ball dress shopping.  Lexi danced around the dressing room in about 8 diff...
