me and luke

He was about two weeks in this photo!!  Next time I see him I will try to capture the same image!! Happy birthday, sweet boy!!

luke is ONE!

A year ago yesterday we met our 5th nephew and this past Sunday we celebrated his #1 with family and friends.  I'm sad I didn't take a pic of Luke and I in the mirror, but I love the photos we have of him and our family!!

my new favorite

This could be my new favorite picture of Lexi EVER.  We are off for another snow day (that makes 3.5 days from the past two weeks).  The snow was beautiful this morning.  Lexi was delighted of the views from the windows so before brushing her hair or coffee for me, we bundled up and headed outside.  I snapped a few pictures of her throwing snow and doing snow angels, but this picture just spoke to me.  I can feel her brilliant spirit and pure heart.  This picture allows me to envision what Lexi will look like at 19.  I pray her soul is just as spirited and pure as it is today.

daddy/daughter dance

I have some catching up to do on the blog, but I wanted to write tonight while my feelings and emotions are raw... About a month ago we received an email about the daddy/daughter dance tonight.  Jason attached the flyer and forwarded it to me saying, "I have to work."  I frowned and moved on.  I didn't think much about it until the other day.  I had an "a-ha" moment and asked Jason if we could ask his dad so Lexi wouldn't miss out on the ball.  Jason called Kevin the next day and I received a text from Jason right after saying, "My dad would be happy to take Lexi."  I was delighted and Lexi was on cloud 9 when I told her Paw Paw wanted to take her to the ball (side note...we didn't tell Lexi about the ball because we didn't think she was going to be able to attend since Jason was out of town). The next day Jason left work early and met us at the mall for a little ball dress shopping.  Lexi danced around the dressing room in about 8 diff...

kindergarten boxcar parade

Well, everyone was healthy until Lexi got the flu and I got pneumonia.  Needless to say, it's been a rough week...BUT, we are better again and for the most part back to normal.  Jason, Lexi and I all worked together on this and we think it turned out great!  All the boxcars were unique and wonderful!  The parade was wonderful...it should have been televised!!

catch up

Wow!  What a month!  We have been crazy busy lately with hockey and Christmas card photo session season here!  Jason and I have both been working a lot and Lexi had 5 birthday celebrations!  Lexi was off school for a week for Thanksgiving, plus the weekends before and after and the Friday before because she had strep throat.  I ended up with bronchitis, but we were still able to celebrate Thanksgiving with the Walsh gang.  Now everyone is healthy again and it is December.  Whew.  It's not going to get any quieter, but that is OK!  We are busy and blessed this year!!

six!

I woke lexi up this morning by singing her "happy birthday." She told me "not yet" and rolled over. Once I got her out of bed I surprised her with candles in a pumpkin loaf. Shortly after that we were off to school! I'm going to bring her warm Mac and cheese for lunch because the cold front came in last night and it is freezing!! When we got to school Mrs. De had decorated for Lexi's special day. I'm so very thankful we have a teacher who will love on Lexi extra special today!!
